Neither competing Great Power wants a significant escalation in their ongoing proxy war in Ukraine, let alone one caused by Russia accidentally harming Biden during his trip had it targeted any military-related infrastructure that he was either using or was around without knowing that he was there.
I don't do copium, I expose it. Explaining strategic calculations isn't the same as justifying or spinning them to falsely get people's hopes up. Those who follow my work should already know the difference and the intent behind what I produce. Feel free to get your analyses elsewhere if you don't like mine.
I agree with your assessment that harming Biden would be a mistake - great powers that go to war cease to be great powers.
I'm not sure the Russians shouldn't have done something, though I don't know what that could have been. Some show of force, somehow? Shoot down a couple of satellites or something?
When you're enemy labels you worse than Hitler, openly calls to overthrow your Government and wages incessant propaganda warfare against you (and its own citizens) then a sow of force must be required?
My stepfather was a Superfortress pilot in WW II and he took part in the firebombing of Tokyo. I could never understand why Hirohito wasn't targeted. By the same token, I do not understand why Putin gave Biden carte blanche to visit his partner-in-crime. Had Putin not done so, Victoria Nuland would have canceled the tour. This courtesy, this decision to allow the head of the Biden Crime Syndicate to return to the scene of one of his crimes, has caused many to conclude that both Biden and Putin are subservient to the WEF and are working together to bring about the New World Order.
Copium. This visit happened because Russia is too weak to do anything about it. On their own door step.

Too weak to hit Kiev with a missile? They've been doing so now and again for the last year. And they certainly didn't want to accidentally hit Biden.
