Russia and China aren’t “against” one another, but they still prioritize their corresponding national interests. These largely overlap, in which cases they cooperate to pursue their shared goals, but they sometimes diverge and thus lead to developments like Chinese companies complying with US sanctions.
Time for China and Russia to put the economic squeeze on the hegemon...dump all US bonds, strangle the dollar. Way past time. China is afraid to lose all of that stuff Americans buy from them. Go down Russia's road and screw them. China you have the rest of the world. Bring down the evil hegemon. After it crashes, they will come crawling back to Russia and China begging for admittance into the new world order.
Can Russia build expertise so it doesn't need outside companies fur such strategic infrastructure? Russia can build nuclear submarines, surely can build liquefaction plants.
If China is serious, it can simply create a new entity and takes over all related assets and continue the Russian projects. Many people over-estimated the freedom China can exercise its own will. Actually, China has deeper domestic problems than USA. China does not have necessary energy or technology independence as Russia does. China has bad relationships with many countries (except those bought friends) but Russia has in general good relationship all its neighbors (except the US vassals in Europe). US and Russia can cooperate deeply but China is NOT ready to have a strategic alliance with Russia because China still needs foreign currency to buy energy and natural resources. Without such natural resources, China's industrial capacity counts very little, and China's population becomes a major drain rather than a national resource. In other words, USA should have allied with Russia to deal with China first. I have to say Chinese espionage in US has achieved a lot.
If dedollarisation is successful,then russia problems with imports would be over. Russia should take time to put up R& D infrastructure and increase the number of people doing R& D.
