Forgive me for being skeptical about the authoritativeness of "the Sahel Alliance's information account on X," but I mean, really now...

The post cites nothing other than "security sources." Well, that certainly sounds rock-solid!

What's the actual evidence for this claim aside from what is essentially an unsourced X post issued by some random group that barely exists in an organizational sense? Sounds more like excuse-making to mollify domestic opinion in the three countries and perhaps in Russia too after the recent mini-debacle (and made easier, of course, by Kiev's not-very-plausible bragging about its role.)

If there were an effort by the US/France to cause trouble for the Sahel countries that have been expelling them, I'd think Morocco or some place like that would be a much better (and more receptive) location to set up a secret training base. And what kind of UAV's would these guys use anyway? Commercially available Chinese quadcopters probably. You don't need much training for that.

I too am skeptical especially as far as the Tuareg are concerned - they might be receptive to useful information but to travel to another continent to hear it beggars belief. And as you point out, I’m sure they can master a weaponized quadcopter without much outside coaching.

If you think it's limited to poland. "Ukraine" did no such thing, as Ukraine is not capable of doing anything on its own. Ukraine simply took the credit.

But what are Poland's national objectives anyway? We all know Poland have always been hostile to Russia and their lack of pragmatism has been worrying to be honest!

I think they want the Galicia (Lvov area) back, and maybe even the Kaliningrad Oblast. Their bet is on USA to find more excuses to reinforce Poland by pushing and duplicating old investment in Germany into Poland. Hopefully they would not try another Polish-Lithuania union.

The idea that Poland would want millions of fractious and well armed people who are not only by no stretch Polish, but who have committed genocide against Poles within living memory, beggars the imagination.

Yes. After WW2, Galicia has gone through a lot of changes and no longer pure Polish. But I am not sure that Polish politicians cherish their national homogeneity as much as you do.

I know the Polish mentality well. Actually, that's one thing they do cherish.

Very well then. Going further, I shall assume that Poland would want to have their current border although they may welcome polish descendants emigrate from Ukraine. Russia political figures seemed to be not interested in that piece either. If so, a rump state would likely remain, whatever name it may have if somehow Russia can believe its neutrality. would you agree ?

There aren't all that many Poles left in Ukraine, although in the past at least (i haven't checked present policy) Poland did encourage ethnic Poles from the former USSR to immigrate.
