Its the same old story. JD Vance is wasting his time. Europe's elites predictably despise nationalism.

Not too difficult to see why. Nationalism destroys monarchies. The sight of a monarch (and his aides) being guillotined - blood, guts and all sliding down those boulevards - isn't all that palatable to European minds. To be a nationalist is to be of a person low-class, and God help a European that isn't class-conscious, with the slightly unfashionable trousers to match. His Majesty's loyal subjects always wear the fashionable trousers.

The Brits and Western Europeans see themselves as the children of God. The scummy nationalists are merely servants of God. In Euro-land, the grandeur of imperial coronations and ceremony generally gets more likes, shares and subscriptions than reenactments of the French revolution. Or Donald Trump's social media content. Will Britons be queueing for 12 hours to catch a glimpse of Trump's embalmed corpse? Probably not.

These so called 'civilization states' are up against centuries of "We iz kangzzzzz!!! God save the KANGZZZ"-type tradition. I don't see much hope for a meaningful consensus beyond the usual rehashing of the same old global-feudalism with some new faces. I hope I'm wrong.

In populist Christian nationalist thought; standing up for Palestine and opposing genocide there seems to be woke.

What many people consider as doing God's work and protecting the foundation of their religion are actually doing the dirty work for another tribe and protecting the basis of another religion.

I have an immature formulation: Judaism was created in the West. However, its implicit racism and first tribe among the unequals made Jesus Christ promote the concept that God loves all the people without regard to wealth or tribes. Catholics provided great improvement but not quite enough, especially due to the Vatican's dictatorship, so we have the Protestant Movement. I cannot argue about details in theologies, but I think the Protestant Movement believe the interpretation of the Bible should not and cannot be uniquely dictated by the Vatican, because what faith is shall be interpreted by the people. In a sense, the separation between the Catholics and Protestants is more of Church and Faith. Even though by the end the Protestants still clutch to their specific branch of church rather than pursuing faith at the individual level.

A similar scenario happened in the East. Hinduism has a fairly complete theology and philosophy. However, not only animals are ranked higher than vegetation, but also humans are classified into four castes. Buddhism rose from the disagreement that one shall not look down upon people by caste. Buddhism theology does not differ much from the original Hinduism. It seems to me the critical differences are (1) no caste in humans (2) true Budha is in your heart and practise gets one closer to the Nirvana. The former was solid in the original Buddhism in India, the latter has more of Chinese philosophy infused. However, the pursuit of individual freedom and improvement under the guidance of Buddhism theology is common across all branches of Buddhism.

Now let's go back and rethink why some of the popular Christian "nationalists" eagerly want to Make Israel Great Again as much as Making America Great Again, if not more.

As long as the oligarchy will prevail all over, we will be all fucked. Trump hasn't done materially anything that counts materially for hoi polloi. Nothing, nada, zilch. Just feel good things, to be able to steal even more from their meagre pockets and "entitlements"!

President Trump has recently stated that the US has spent more than 330 Billion on the Ukraine war, much of it unaccounted for, with even Zelensky complaining he can't find 100 Billion. The war has turned out to be a gigantic raid on the American Taxpayer to support a regime that reeks of corruption, tyranny, and Nazism. In the past three weeks, the US taxpayer has been shocked by daily revelations of the massive theft, fraud, and misappropriation by the organized criminal syndicate that masquerades as the Democratic UniParty. At iSpeakForTrump we regard Mr. Korybko as a rich source and urge our followers to subscribe.

Good one Andrew. It was a "smackdown" and a wakeup call for the scum who lead the EU. They are panicking. The proof is the "emergency" meeting Macron call for tomorrow in Paris. They don't know what to do. Trump has made it abundantly clear he cares little for the EU and NATO. Vance's speech, like Putin's 2007 Munich Security speech are ones for the ages. The bottom line: the EU and NATO are irrelevant.

Thanks again for a superb article.

Is there a contradiction between the West’s potential “return to this model of diplomacy that it previously practiced for centuries” improving the stability of international relations and “an essentially emancipatory, anti-colonial movement against unipolar hegemony”?

Not to claim outright that the West is returning to the colonial model, but listening to the likes of Michael Hudson and Chomsky it seems to me that the economic model underlying the Western civilization hasn’t really changed (and this can’t be viewed in isolation from the rise and fall of the neoliberal globalist class).

What happens to Iran in this future that is heralded by Putin and Vance?
