Despite recognizing how easily the NATO-Russian proxy war in Ukraine could spiral out of control into World War III, and thus appreciating the need to bring about a diplomatic end to it as soon as possible exactly as Vance has promised that he’ll seek to do, some members of the Alt-Media Community are still displeased that Trump picked him as VP.
As you probably know, I'm far from MAGA. In fact, I'm anti-capitalist as well as anti-imperialist. But I do live in Ohio, and know something about JD Vance. In fact, I voted for him, which was the first time in my voting life, which began in 1976, that I ever voted for a Republican candidate for Senator.
I did that for one reason and one reason only. During the debate, Vance's opponent, Democrat Tim Ryan, said the US had to support Ukraine regardless of the cost. Vance said he didn't care about Ukraine, he cared about people in Ohio, he was opposed to anything that could lead to a nuclear war, and was therefore opposed to supporting the Ukraine War.
Since then, he's been consistent on that issue.
Vance grew up poor, and he admits that it was only through luck or the grace of some god that he didn't end up small-town poor himself. Plus, he hasn't been in Congress long enough to become a swamp creature.
He's a FAR better VP pick than that raving anti-Castro Cuban lunatic Marco Rubio, or the warmongering vampire aka Nikki Haley. If something happens to Trump, Vance would be far more likely to steer the country away from war, and maybe even start dismantling the Empire because he knows George Washington's warning about entangling foreign alliances.
He's consistently against war in Ukraine, because he wants to focus all war-making effort on Iran. It will satisfy the neocons who run him and Trump, and give boatloads of money to Peter Thiel, Vance’s benefactor, to advance his AI war-making schemes. The Dems may want to bring in a violent underclass, but the GOP aims to replace the White middle-class with tens of millions of Hb1 visa Indians.
Do they? Do they really? Bush certainly never did anything about those Hb1 visas, and neither did Trump. As for Iran, it was Trump who refused to go to war with them, probably after some Navy admiral told him any aircraft carrier we sent against them would be sunk.
Trump hates calling the next of kin of slain military people, you know. He hated to call a dozen. The prospect of calling 3000 was too much.
Vance is a veteran. He's seen the elephant, and knows exactly how horrible a war can be in a way that no one not a combat veteran, or a victim of combat veterans, could. I don't think he'd support any war without clear and winnable objectives, and no such things exist when it comes to Iran.
Andrew, I absolutely love your reporting on Ukraine. Top notch.
But for this piece, I think you are missing a very important aspect. Namely, J.D. Vance's ties to Israel.
Vance has received funds from AIPAC, seems to be a staunch supporter of Israel (who is genociding hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians).
And we both (especially historically-speaking) know that such a stance doesn't bode well for future extended conflicts in the Middle East - between Israel and their foes with the financial and military support of the U.S.
I mostly agree. Too many Congressmen/women are bought and paid for if not by Israel, then by some foul corporate / MIC interest. It's a Big Club and we ain't in it. While Trump won't put much of a dent in the corrupt system (it has grown into too much of a monster), my hope is he can at least help delay some of the globalist plans for a few years, and smack NATO down a bit too. Not gonna hold my breath though.
I'm hoping Trump will surprise us and truly put America first. I'm afraid he may have let a snake in the tent with Vance. Haley, Bolton and Pompeo should have taught Trump to take a look under the mask first!
MacGregor would have been a great pick. But he would have thoroughly upstaged Trump. Indeed, he should have been top of the ticket. Frankly, I'm beginning to see just how incompetent at governance Trump really is. I may stay home in November. Why validate this nonsense?
Unfortunately this is true. Middle East deaths are just the same status quo and not a single prominent country in the world is doing a thing. The only ones are the beleaguered; a group from Lebanon, the starving houthis and the decimated Syrians.
Russia however is the conflict that can cause WW3. This is what the people who really rule the world seem to want - warmonger corps. Don't forget, half the entirety of the Afghan and lost Afghan war expenditure of $14 trillion has gone to 5 companies alone. FIVE
Any prevention of WW3 may be welcomed if only for the sole fact that these are the idiots who have their buttons on nuclear annihilation
As barbaric as the ZioGenocide is, if there's a nuclear war nothing will matter. We can't abandon the Palestinians, no matter what. My concern is that the Zio Dream Team of AIPAC-controlled TrumpVance may be worse for Palestinians.
Some will "settle" for preventing nuclear war and then refocusing on the ZioGenocide. I get it. I still don't like it.
Giving the benefit of the doubt to JD Vance’s statement he learned he was lied to by the establishment, etc ….so one question then: knowing that Trump during his term literally filled his administration with the swamp / establishment, how does he not see this and align himself with Trump?
Because AIPAC told him to. And the thrill of being a heartbeat away from the Oval Office is intoxicating to most, especially when the only thing standing between you and the presidency has a huge bullseye painted on his back.
Yale has a way of washing the hillbilly odor off of you and putting all kinds of ideas and ideologies in your head. It's not one of the premier CIA recruiting schools for nothing!
A solid analysis, and I agree with you. I recently watched the Viktor Orban-Tucker interview and Orban is a master of realpolitik. A bright man who knows some history. Living in the shadow of Ukraine and Russia. He repeatedly said, hopefully, Trump is the one chance we have to turn things around. What a thankless job Orban has...traveling around Europe, trying to talk neocon leaders out of committing suicide. Amazing...
Out of all the candidates for Trump’s running mate, JD Vance is the best pick. JD Vance’s only problem is AIPAC & Zionist support. But in reality, unfortunately, who in the US political class isn’t?
Trump never drained the swamp in his first term. He had the worst neocon swamp creatures in his administration. He did learn late as he dumped John Bolton and several others late in his term. It sounds like he learned his lesson and hopefully he will truly drain the swamp this time.
One thing is for sure there most likely will not be a new war taking place under Trump, unless the deep state sabotages this. JD Vance can be hawkish on China & Iran but Trump is in control of the foreign policy.
"Few activists will ever be fully pleased with any presidential ticket, but comparatively speaking, the Trump-Vance one is much better for world peace as a whole than the Biden-Harris one"
Great piece. This is my conclusion, too. I'm far from being MAGA or a Trump partisan but as the saying goes, any port in a storm. Vance was the very best pick he could've made in my opinion. Young guy from the heartland not yet 40 y/o. Will appeal to the younger folk and actually has a brain. Just the fact that the swamp creatures wanted Trump dead would be enough of a reason to vote for Trump. Is it just me or are there similarities here to the JFK coup? Since the Dems believe they can keep the corpse of Biden going for our consideration just shows how insulting and creepy they are. No interviews with the father of the shooter? Come on, man! No securing of the high point for the rally? Come on, man! I wonder if they'll drop the body in the ocean like they did with OBL? Unless he's killed, I don't see how Trump loses this election. This is a "chip shot" from here on in...to November. I have "liberal" friends and they have a burning hot hatred for Trump. Hope he's got a food tester. And, FJB! Bigly!
Like Tucker Carlson said at the Heritage Foundation, "Every single person was against Vance." and I'm paraphrasing from memory. And Tucker said that's when he knew Vance was a good choice.

With his numerous statements about Hamas, he obviously doesn't know history at all and who were behind its creation:

Some would argue that he is supporting the Zionists:

Please explain to us how any of this is good for the United States of America.

Vance is an AIPAC Zionist Stooge. The Genocide will continue no matter who is elected. Everything else is just smoke- and-mirrors!

Yeah, time will tell. Last term he filled his admin with swamp creatures (Bolton, Pompeo, Barr, etc.).
So, I hope he learned his lesson and will install "outsiders" (if those can even still be found.
Here's are a couple of examples. For the U.S. Treasury Bitcoin reserves he could hire Matthew Kratter (from Bitcoin University, see https://www.youtube.com/@Bitcoin_University AND https://x.com/mattkratter).
Though not an outsider, Col. Douglas MacGregor would be good as an adviser for the NATO/Ukraine-Russia affair.
What would be some of your suggestions?
MacGregor would have been a great pick. But he would have thoroughly upstaged Trump. Indeed, he should have been top of the ticket. Frankly, I'm beginning to see just how incompetent at governance Trump really is. I may stay home in November. Why validate this nonsense?
Lyn Alden as Secty Treasury, Jim Ricards in Fed, Dr. Malone in a Health capacity. Just a few, but NO CHANCE!!!

Excellent argument…thank you. I’m a pacifist, but I’m also a pragmatist…I’ll take ending the war in Ukraine as a solid win.
Thanks Andrew.

Plus the silicon valley finishing school...

I thought the visit by Putin to Vietnam or Indian PM visiting Russia are normal things. North korea is different though.
I regard this as the best of news
Thanks €U DSA i cannot read what “Ummah Pivot” is: can you explain, please?
Excellent !
