Russia must not allow the U.S to lure it into using Russia's security concerns concerning Ukraine, NATO and the E.U. as a bargaining chip for a U.S. backdoor access to encircle Russia at home.

Exchanging strength at home for a few arms sales abroad will weaken Russian security at home and make Russia even more vulnerable to illegal U.S. sanctions.

The U.S. has no intentions of giving up on its goal of weakening and breaking up Russia at home.

Indonesia is on verge of a civil war with internal conflicts are sorted out like West Papuans who humiliate Indonesian military for years. I believe West Papua will be independent in near future like East Timor.

I currently suspect that Indonesia is far weaker than we believe.

G'day Marco, West Papua has been an ongoing military situation for the TNI military for decades and is not escalating so I am perplexed by your comment of on the verge of civil war, the average Indonesian does not support Papuan independence and are deeply opposed to it. The Australian government helps cover up the human rights abuses as they did in East Timor for years.

What do you see as the catalyst for Papua's independence in the near future?

Indonesia is deeply divided by ethnic groups. Many of them don’t like the Muslims. If given a chance, West Papua and other non-Muslims will secede. Indonesia’s economic situation is not stable as middle class continues shrinking

G'day Marco. Indonesia is 88% muslim, and only NTT and North Sulawesi and some of Maluku plus North Sumatra have any concentration of Christians. Deeply divided by ethnic groups, surely you are joking. My wife is Indonesian and I have seen none of this so called division you speak of. TNI created division during Reformasi and Maluku and Ambon suffered greatly but that is the last time.

My understanding is that after Covid inflation struck and prices for staples rose significantly the poor s standard of living reduced, as far as the middle class shrinking, have you got any research to support that or only anecdotal. Australian Academia suggests that the Middle class is growing and becoming more pious not shrinking.

The idea of succession is mind boggling, the last group who tried that in Maluku in the 1950s had to move to Holland and still live there. TNi nor the government will allow any succession in any form, one only has to look at what is happening in West Papua.

What you describe doesn't sound like a relationship between sovereign allies but a hegemon and vassal.

I think it would be a very bad idea to try to block this deal......As soon as US recognize its limitations it will be better for all

Indonesia's weapon purchases are scattered all over the world. If Americans ban the purchase of BrahMos, Indonesia can stop buying US airplanes (already equipped with more Su-27 and MIG-29 than F-16). For US benefits, more nations in Southeast Asia should own BrahMos or similar high-supersonic anti-ship missiles. Of course, if the USA had something similar for sale, I am sure Indonesia will consider that as well.
